Welcome From New Principal Pat Sieler
2022-2023 School Year
Dear Parents of Marshall Lane Elementary School,
I’m honored and excited to begin the 2022-23 school year as the new principal of Marshall Lane Elementary. If, like me, you are new to the Marshall Lane community, welcome aboard! If you are a returning family, we’re glad to have you back! On behalf of the staff and teachers here, we look forward to welcoming you when school resumes on August 18.
By way of introduction, here’s a little about my background. I have been an educator for about twenty years, first as a 7th and 8th grade social studies, US History, and drama teacher at Willow Glen Middle School in San Jose. I served as the assistant principal of discipline at WGMS for three years, and then as the assistant principal of instruction for 6 years. Here are my impressions as I assume the principal position from Mrs. Priscilla Spencer:
This is a great school!
During my transition meetings with Mrs. Spencer and in my time with the staff, their dedication to the academic and social-emotional well-being of all students stands front and center. As an educator very familiar with the middle school experience, I know how vital it is that students are well-prepared for what comes next.
As teachers return to prepare for the new school year, our focus will be to continue the work to provide rigorous academic instruction while meeting the social-emotional needs of students in our care. Your participation in the life of the school will continue to play a big part in the success of our learning community. My door is open and I welcome the opportunity to hear from you if you have questions or concerns.
With thanks to Mrs. Spencer for her excellent stewardship and to the Marshall Lane staff and teachers for their warm welcome and generosity as I step in as principal, I look forward to carrying on the proud tradition of educational excellence at Marshall Lane.
Go Mustangs!
