Marshall Lane Elementary School

Upcoming Assemblies

Fun assemblies at Marshall Lane!

One of the students’ and teachers’ favorite activities at school is assemblies. Our library aide, Eileen Weinstein, has worked with Hicklebee’s Bookstore to bring four award-winning authors to our school virtually so far this year. It is wonderful to have our students discover new authors and books as well as learn about the writing process. Thanks, Eileen!

In addition, the funds that you contribute to our awesome PTA provide high quality assemblies for all of our students. On November  4th, artist Kyle Tiernan will visit our school virtually and will conduct one assembly for our TK to 2nd grade students and another for our 3rd to 5th graders. Kyle has joined us a number of times and is an expert at leading students through directed drawing. Each child creates two masterpieces during the 45 minute assembly and learns a lot about shapes in drawing, composition, and design. Thank you so much for helping fund our assembly program by donating to the PTA. If you haven’t already done so, now is the perfect time to support their efforts to enrich our program at Marshall Lane!

Also, on Monday, November 8th, a free assembly will be offered from the California Dairy Council. They will bring a trailer with a cow to our campus for an informative outdoor assembly. In the past, students have really enjoyed this assembly and learning about cows and dairy products.
