Parent Education Opportunity
Our Marshall Lane PTA will be sponsoring a parent education night on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019. The speaker will be life and parenting coach, Mary Eshen. As you may recall, she provided a parent education night last year about creating independence in children.
This year, her presentation is entitled “Screen Time Battles: How to Avoid Them.” During this talk you will:
- Learn the pluses and minuses of electronics—smartphones, gaming, texting, apps & YouTube
- Hear about what you should expect by age group—toddler, elementary, middle and high school
- Find out how electronics can affect brain development at different stages
- Get ideas about setting reasonable, age-appropriate limits in your home without a fight
- Learn what parental controls you can use and what to know as your kids get older
- Find out what to do when things get out of control
- Hear about sexual content and what you should know as a parent
