IMPORTANT New Covid Testing Information

Please read for important new updates

This updated information was received from the Santa Clara County Health Department (SCCHD) regarding Covid testing requirements following an absence with Covid Symptoms. This should help to shorten the time for students to be out of school following an absence due to illness. Please keep in mind that students must still be symptom & medication free for 24 hours prior to returning to school.

Please continue to use our  24 hour attendance line to report absences for your student(s).  Be sure to include the name of your child(ren), grade, date, reason for the absence and  include any symptoms that they are experiencing. Absences should be reported each morning that a student is absent from school regardless of the reason for the absence. Our 24 hour attendance number is: 408-341-7076

Message from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department (SCCPHD):

The SCCPHD recently announced a change in the testing requirements.  For a symptomatic individual, a negative antigen (rapid) test is sufficient to indicate the individual is negative, there is no requirement for waiting for a PCR confirmation unless you have had a positive result.

Another change, if an antigen test shows positive and the individual tests negative with PCR, the individual is considered negative for COVID.

Acceptable proof of COVID test results:

  • A printed document from the lab or test provider

  • An electronic test result displayed on a phone or other device from the test provider or lab. Note: home testing continues to not be accepted.

  • Information should include the person's name, type of test administered, negative test result, and date of test.
