Marshall Lane Elementary School

Message From the Principal

Happy New Year to all!  I hope the holiday break gave you time to spend with your family and friends celebrating and relaxing.  2016 is off to a good start at Marshall Lane.  Teachers and staff members have returned to work reenergized and enthusiastic about the next six months of school.

The rains have started and with it has come the challenges of dealing with the wet weather.  This has increased the need for a higher level of assistance to ensure the safety and well being of our students.  Here’s what you can do to help. Read the bright yellow flyer that was sent home in your Thursday envelope last week to review the rules in the parking lot.  Please follow these rules to make sure our parking lot is a safe area. If you are available from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. on any day(s) during the week, we can always use help opening car doors and greeting students in the parking lots before school.

Over the past week, we have also had several rainy day lunches.  On these days, students eat in the cafeteria and then return to their classrooms to play. Times are between 11:30 and 1:00.   We can always use parent help during these times.  Stop by the office and let us know if you are available to assist during morning drop off or at lunchtime.  It is an opportunity to connect with students and really help out.  Children always enjoy having their parents on campus.

Please read the information below regarding parent information sessions about Common Core math that will be coming to our school.  Hope to see you there!

 Regards,

Priscilla Spencer
