College Day 2015

On Friday, October 9th, we celebrated College Day at Marshall Lane. This is a time during which we discuss higher education and encourage students to consider their future. The emphasis is on doing your best in school to be a scholar and to learn as much as you can to build a strong educational foundation.
Activities for College Day included visits from the principal and our Campbell Union School District Board President, Danielle Cohen, who shared their educational journeys. Talks by teachers about their own college experiences, discussing which college students might like to attend some day, making college pennants, and interviewing parents about their educational journeys also took place. All students were given a college day wristband and a pencil.
Our goal is to encourage students to look to their future and to realize that they have great potential. At Marshall Lane, we are working hard to fulfill our district promise to “prepare students for college and career success and to be globally competitive in the workplace.” Talk to your kids and share your educational journey and your hopes for their futures. No doubt it will inspire them.
