Dear Marshall Lane Families,

As the school year draws to a close, I want to thank each and every one of you who have helped to make our school so wonderful.  Without your support and assistance, Marshall Lane would not be the awesome school that it is.  Know that we appreciate you!

Thank you for sharing your children with us this year.  Have a wonderful summer and make sure they take time to read, write and do some math.  See you in August!

Warm regards,

 Priscilla Spencer

For the first time this year, we have combined the Hicklebee’s Book Fair and Mustang Chorale performance with our Art Connections Showcase.  It was an amazing event that included art pieces displayed outdoors in the lawn area behind the staff lounge.

Thanks to Eileen Weinstein for once again heading up the Hicklebee’s Book Fair with the help of Jodie Topping, Lauren Froman, Heather Boger, Ann Steele,  and all of the volunteers.  It is always such a great event!

Congratulations to our wonderful Mustang Chorale for another wonderful performance.  Thanks to choir director, Gosia Hoot, for her continued work with this group of students.  Together, they do a fabulous job!!

A special thanks to Matt Boehm, Grace Kong, Alex Allen, and all of the Art Connections parents for a spectacular art show!  Thanks to Renee Paquier and the Saratoga Rotary Art Club for loaning us their display boards.  It was an incredible event!

Our Lost and Found carts are overflowing with outerwear, lunch boxes and a variety of other items.  When you are on campus, please stop by to check if any of these items belong to your child/ren.  All leftover items will be donated to charity after school is out for the summer.

Please refer to the school calendar that is posted on our website for next year as you plan your family trips and vacations. Whenever possible, we prefer that students do not miss school unless they are ill.  Planning vacations during regular school breaks helps your child to understand how much education is valued in your family and ensures that they are present for important instruction.

If you must be gone during two or more regular school days, we ask that you obtain an Independent Study Contract so your child will receive school work to complete while they are gone.  Please ask our office staff to assist you with this.  Students who are absent for any reasons besides illness and a funeral of a family member are considered to be truant.  Please help us to ensure that your child receives a complete education by getting them to school on time every day.  Thank you.

Children who don't read during the summer can lose up to two months of learning by the time they return to school in the fall. Click the link below to see what our teachers have put together as options for parents who want to maintain or develop their child’s literacy during the summer.
