Over the past few weeks, input has been being gathered from our staff, our School Site Council, and other community members about the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).  This plan directs the way in which we use funding that is provided for us.  A presentation was given at the last PTA meeting.  We will also be discussing the LCAP at the upcoming PTA meeting.  Any input that you would like to share would be appreciated.

Standardized testing will take place at Marshall Lane during the period of time between April 24th and May 31st for students in 3rd to 5th grades.  It is essential that students be present for the testing, so please do not schedule any vacations or appointments during this time.  Be sure to mark your calendars with these dates now so you will be aware of them.  Thank you!

Parents of current 4th grade students will be receiving a preference form for 5th grade placement in the mail within the next few weeks.  You will be asked if you prefer that your student remain at Marshall Lane for 5th grade for the 2017-2018 school year or move to a middle school setting for 5th grade.  Once you receive it, please fill out the form and return it to the office between January 30th and February 10th. Forms cannot be accepted until Monday, January 30th. While you may use this means to express which setting you would prefer for your student, there are no guarantees that this is where your child will be placed.  Decisions are based on school site capacity.  The Open Enrollment period for 5th grade is from January 30thto February 10th.  Any forms turned in after that date will not be considered.

The Marshall Lane Staff wishes a Happy New Year to all!  We hope that you had a wonderful holiday break and were able to celebrate and enjoy time with family and friends.

As students transition back to school and away from the busy holiday special events, please help make this a smooth time for them.  Make sure they get enough sleep, eat healthy food, have daily exercise, and drink plenty of water.  All of these things will help them to be successful in school and return more easily to their regular routine..  Thank you!
