Principal's Message

Every year, our staff votes to honor people who have displayed exemplary work throughout the year.  As you know, we have an outstanding staff at Marshall Lane, so each and every person is worthy of an award.  However, we have to choose a small number of people to honor each year.  Here are the honorees for this year:

Teacher of the Year—Michelle Beddo, Instructional Coach

Michelle has been our instructional coach for the past three years.  She does an outstanding job assisting our teachers by providing staff development for them, modeling lessons in classrooms, observing them teaching and working with them afterwards, finding and providing resources, and assisting with testing and data analysis.  We appreciate Michelle’s efforts and congratulate her on this award.

 Volunteer of the Year—Jodie Topping, PTA President

Jodie fills a variety of roles at Marshall Lane and excels in each of them. As our PTA President, she has been instrumental in creating a budget that supports all of the various programs that help to make Marshall Lane such a special place to be.  Jodie’s high level of involvement in the activities provided by our very generous PTA has helped to make them be successful.  Strong leadership skills and a high level of organization and responsibility have contributed to another successful year for our PTA.  Congratulations to Jodie and thanks for all she does for our school.

Classified Employee of the Year—Sharon Morris, Cafeteria Supervisor

Sharon joined our Marshall Lane staff two years ago.  In her role as our cafeteria supervisor, she is responsible and reliable.  She works with almost every Marshall Lane student at one time or another and has become a very popular staff member.  Sharon greets every child with a smile and a warm welcome and is very patient as she smoothly runs our cafeteria.  Many students stay after they eat their lunches to help her clean up and a few even give up their recess time to help get her set up for lunch every day.  Sharon has been a welcome addition to Marshall Lane.  We congratulate her on this award!

Classified District Employee of the Year—Ernesto Quinonez, Tech Department

For the past two years, Ernie has been assigned to Marshall Lane to help support us with technology.  As we have acquired more Chromebooks and iPads during this time, his help has been essential in ensuring that these devices are up and running so they can benefit our students.  Ernie has also assisted in providing professional development and individualized assistance to our staff members throughout the year.  We truly appreciate all of his help and support.
