Marshall Lane Elementary School

Construction at Marshall Lane

This summer, a new Campbell Care building will be constructed at our site.  It will be the same size as the current building and will be located along the fence line on the upper playground.  Since this will reduce the total amount of the playground area, additional blacktop will be installed in front of the current play structure.

In order to be able to complete the project by the first day of school, construction needs to begin immediately. Temporary fencing will be installed later this week and they will begin the demolition of the blacktop in order to pour the concrete pad for the building.  A new retaining wall will be built behind the current Campbell Care building.

In addition to the new building, solar panels will be installed on the roof over rooms 17 to 20 this summer.  This will be an effective way to reduce our use of energy.

You may have noticed that our new sign is finally operational.  I am happy to report that another electronic sign will also be installed this summer in the upper parking lot.

Lastly, due to the generosity of parents who pledged funds at the spring fling for a hydration station, two or three of these will be installed at Marshall Lane this summer.  Here is a photo of what it will look like.
