Our parking lots become very crowded before and after school, so we encourage alternate ways to arrive at school. If you live close to campus, consider biking or walking to school. Students who bike should be accompanied by an adult and should follow all safety rules. Once bikers enter the campus, bikes need to be walked for safety.  Bikes should be locked up on the  racks near Campbell Care.

After school is an especially busy time of day. There are two ways to pick up your child. You may park and walk to one of the gates to wait for them. We have two lots and you may park in either one.

TK to 2nd graders will be released out of the lower gates near the school office. 3rd to 5th grade students will leave campus from the upper gates near the Campbell Care building. At this time, parents will not be allowed to enter the campus.

If you want to pick up your child at the curb, you will need to wait in the car line in either the lower or upper lot. Here are some reminders that help to make this process smoother:

  • Placards with student names will be provided for each family. Display the placard with your child’s name in your front window for pick up. This really helps facilitate the process. If you lose your placard, please make a sign that is 8 ½” x 11” for your window with your child’s name or go to the office to purchase a new placard for $1.00. We recommend if you may be picking up your child in various vehicles that you purchase an additional placard for your other car.

  • Pull up as far as possible to allow for cars to move in and out once students are loaded into their vehicles.

  • Do not get out of your car to open the door or trunk for your students. This really slows down the process. Students should enter and exit through the door on the school side and keep their backpack with them. For safety, do not allow your children to get out on the street side of the vehicle.

Together, we can make this a smooth, pleasant process for everyone! Thank you for your support!

Dear Marshall Lane Families,

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year. We are very excited to have our students returning for in person learning on Thursday, August 19th! If by any chance you are receiving this message and your child will not be attending Marshall Lane due to moving or enrollment changes, please let our office staff know ASAP so that we may update class rosters, contact information, and school records, as required.

Last week, the Campbell Union School District sent Annual Parent Forms to you via email from CUSD/InformedK12. These forms are required for your student to attend school, so please complete online for each enrolled student ASAP. If you did not receive them via email, please check your junk or spam folders to locate them. Call our office at (408) 364-4259 if you are unable to find them.

Class lists will be  posted on our website at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th. You will need your child’s district ID number which can be found on their enrollment paperwork. Please inform your child of their teacher’s name and room number.

School will begin at 8:10 for all students in TK to 1st grade and at 8:00 for students in 2nd through 5th grades. When the gates open at 7:50, parents may accompany their children and wait outside their classrooms. Adults must wear masks whenever they are outside their vehicle on the school campus. Students must also wear masks when exiting their vehicle in the morning since they will go directly into class within a few minutes. When the teacher opens the door, students will enter their classrooms. At this time, parents will not be allowed inside the classrooms.

At the end of the day, TK to 1st grade students will be dismissed at 2:15 and 2nd through 5th graders will be dismissed at 2:20.  With the exception of Wednesdays, which are early release days and TK/K and 1st grade are dismissed at 1:15 and 2nd through 5th are dismissed at 1:20. We are requiring that all adults wear masks to meet their children outside of the gates or to pick them up in the car line. Adults will not be allowed on campus at the end of the school day. Please arrange to pick up your students on time and inform your child where you will meet them.

Help Wanted! Be a part of the solution! We are currently hiring before and after school car valets and lunchtime supervisors. Please contact pspencer [at] campbellusd.org for more information if you are available to assist our students in this way. Thank you!

As we move forward, we will keep you posted as conditions in our county and state  change and health guidelines are updated. All students will need to arrive at school wearing a mask and carrying a full-sized backpack to transport items to and from school. Children should dress comfortably and wear closed-toed shoes. All items should be marked in case they are misplaced.

Children will also need to bring a water bottle with their name on it and a healthy snack for recess. For the safety of all, please do not send any glass containers to school with your child.

Lunch will be free again this year for all students. If your child would like to participate, they will need to let the teacher know at the beginning of the day. Students are also allowed to bring their own lunch from home.

Children are not required to bring school supplies for their classroom. However, if you wish to donate supplies for your teacher, please see the list of suggested items on our website at https://mlane.campbellusd.org/ under “Resources” and “Family Involvement”.

Dear Marshall Lane Families,

I hope that this finds you all well and enjoying the summer after such a difficult year! At this time, we are working on planning for the new school year. The situation continues to change and our district is making plans to address our new reality.

A survey regarding AB 130 and Independent Studies for students whose health would be at risk if they attended school during the 2021-2022 school year was sent out last week by people at the district office. If you have not yet responded, please do so.. The survey is due tomorrow, July 29th by 7:00 p.m. The information that is gathered will be used to make plans for the school year.

Based on the recommendations from the Public Health Department and the California Department of Education, everyone will be required to wear masks inside when we return to school. Masks will not be required outside. Please make sure that your child is able to wear a mask for extended periods of time. We will also continue to have students wash their hands frequently and our custodians will sanitize all classrooms and common areas. As conditions evolve, we will keep you updated on any changes.

As we move closer to August 19th, more information will be shared with you, so please continue to check your email and both the district and Marshall Lane websites for updates. Thank you!

We look forward to our partnership with you during the 2021-2022 school year! See you soon!

On June 9th, we celebrated all of our 5th graders as well as 5th grade students who participated in the CampbellDistance Learning Program this year. The parade was a festive celebration with banners, balloons, swag, certificates, and bundtinis! A special thanks to our Marshall Lane teachers and PTA for helping to make this a memorable event for our students and their families.
Our wonderful Campbell Care leader, Mr. KK also known as Kevin Theobold did an excellent job producing a memory video for the students. Here it is in case you would like to take a look at it. Thanks to Mr. KK for all of his work on this great project!

In order to support our students this year, Chromebooks were distributed to all. At this time, if your child/ren has not yet returned their Chromebook, charging cord, and hot spot (if they have one), please do so. Over the summer, our Tech Department will clean and repair all of the Chromebooks to prepare them for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you!

Now that students are back in school, drop off and pick up are the busiest times of the day. Since the weather is so beautiful, many students are opting to ride their bicycles or walk to school. If your student is riding to school, please make sure that they understand how to ride safely. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Riding carefully and watching out for pedestrians and cars

  • Walking their bike while on school property

  • Locking up their bike on one of the two bike racks

  • When crossing a street, please wait for the light to tell you to go. If there is not light, use the crosswalk or cross only at a corner--not in the middle of a block.

If you are dropping your child off in their designated parking lot, please follow all safety rules. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving 15 miles per hour in the parking lot

  • Following all traffic rules

  • Noticing if there are people in or near the crosswalk and yielding to them

  • Pull up as far as you can to drop your student(s) off to allow cars behind you to pull up to drop off their children

  • Keeping safety in mind at all times

  • If you need to park to visit the office, please use the crosswalks when walking across the parking lot

Our motto is “Safety First!” Thank you for your efforts to keep our parking lots and the streets surrounding our campus safe!
