At last count, we had 265 coats, sweaters and sweatshirts on our Lost and Found racks. In addition, there are also numerous backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, and hats that have not been claimed. If your child has lost anything at school, please have them check the racks or try to do so yourself when you are on campus. At the end of the school year, all remaining items will be donated. Thanks! We appreciate the ongoing efforts of Christine Walker and other helpful parents who continually organize the Lost and Found racks.

Last week, in the Thursday envelopes, you received a form asking if your child/ren would be returning to Marshall Lane for the 2015 - 2016 school year. It is very important for planning purposes to know how many of our students who will be returning. Please fill out and return the form at your earliest convenience. We appreciate your help with gathering this information

In order to show our appreciation for parents and others who have helped out at Marshall Lane, our staff sponsors a Volunteer Tea each year to honor them. If you have helped out in your child’s classroom, supervised on a field trip, served on a committee, assisted on a fund raiser, or helped out in any other capacity, please join us. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 13th from 3:00 to 4:00. Childcare will be provided on the Kindergarten yard. We hope that you will join us! Thanks for all you do!

Two of the parking places in the upper parking lot are marked for VIP parking. These spaces were auctioned off at the Spring Fling. Please respect the signs and do not park your vehicle in these spaces at any time. We appreciate your help.

If you have visited our staff room recently, you may have noticed that we have some new chairs. We also received a number of cabinets, desk chairs, and file cabinets. These were donated by a local company that was closing one of their buildings. This great deal was organized by parent Tonya Baggett. Not only did she connect us with the people who were donating the items but, with the help of her Dad and her son Tyler, Tonya delivered two truckloads of furniture to Marshall Lane. Thank you, Tonya, we truly appreciate your efforts on our behalf!

On Monday, our students experienced an assembly conducted by marine biologist, Wayne Brown, and diving instruction, Karen Brown. The topic of the assembly was whales and students learned information about humpback whales and viewed photos from an expedition in the Caribbean. Thanks to assembly coordinators, Teri Tarshis, Stephanie Griffith, and Cathy Mathiesen for all of the wonderful assemblies that they have organized this year and to the PTA for the funds to pay for these great learning opportunities for our students.
