Do you want to be a member of a team that helps to set the direction of the school?  Do you want to know more and have a say about how money is spent on our students?

If so, we have a job for you!  Our School Site Council is seeking people to join our group to meet one Tuesday afternoon per month for one and a half hours to discuss the strengths and needs of our school and make decisions regarding funding.

If this is something that you are interested in pursuing, please email Principal Spencer at pspencer [at] campbellusd.org or stop by our office to find out more information.  Thank you on behalf of our students!

Safety of all of our students is our most important concern at Marshall Lane.  We know that this is a concern for our community, as well.

Every morning, community members and upper grade students open car doors and greet children as they arrive at school.  However, we need help.  If you can assist us from 8:00 to 8:30 in one of the parking lots daily or even once a week, we would truly appreciate it.

Can you help us with this important job?  If so, please call our office at (408) 364-4259.  Thank you!!

One of the goals of our PTA is to provide activities for the families in our community. On Friday, September 30th, a free showing of Zootopia will occur on our upper field area.  Come with your family and enjoy a movie under the stars.  This is a fun event for all ages.  Please remember that all students must be supervised by a parent throughout the movie.  Hope to see you there!

Writing is one of the important subjects that is taught.  Each year, our district honors one young author from each school as the “Rising Young Author”.   This year, the student being recognized is Allie Wen.  She wrote a story called “Pigger” last year when she was a third grade student in Ms. Sarah Wright’s class.

Everyone is invited to the “Rising Young Authors” event at the Barnes and Noble on Stevens Creek Boulevard at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5th.  Hope you can join us!

Ongoing professional development is important to help in our goal of providing the highest quality educational experience for all students.

On October 14th, the entire Campbell Union School district will have a professional development day to provide our teachers with time to focus on instruction.

This year, we are using the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  Marshall Lane teachers will work on studying the new standards and developing lessons for their students.

One of the goals we have as a district is to prepare students for college and career success. To this end, we celebrate College Dayin conjunction with the city of San Jose every year.  This year, the date is on Friday,October 21st.

We encourage students, staff members and any parents who will be on campus on that day to wear a representation of their college career.  Staff members will be talking to students about their educational journeys.

All of the neighbors in our Marshall Lane area are an important part of our community, whether they have children at our school or not.  Please remember to be respectful of them by not blocking their driveways and by not walking across their lawns or onto their property as you walk to school.  They will truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us for Back to School Night.  This is an important beginning of a year-long relationship with your child’s teacher so you can work together to meet his/her needs.  If you have questions or concerns, the teacher is your first point of contact.
