In order to maintain an inclusive environment at Marshall Lane, we do not allow students or parents to distribute invitations or personal notes to other children on campus. Children get their feelings hurt when some students receive the invitation or note and others do not. Please send all invitations or personal notes to families via Evite, email, or regular mail to help maintain the positive school climate that we work so hard to maintain. Thank you!

Safety of our students at Marshall Lane is our number one priority. Please help us by following all of the safety rules in the parking lot:
-
Drive slowly and carefully, stopping for pedestrians.
-
Use the crosswalks at all times for crossing the parking lot.
-
Pull up right before the crosswalk in the lower lot and as far as possible in front of Campbell Care in the upper lot to facilitate quick loading and unloading of students. Do not drop students off in other places in the lot unless you park and accompany them onto the school site.
-
Have students exit the car on the school side, never on the outside of the lane.
-
Remain in your car while students exit so you can pull away as soon as they are out of the car.
-
Keep backpacks in the car with your student, not in the truck or back part of a van.
-
Park only in regular parking spaces. Do not park in the spaces that are designated for staff members or that have signs for “Marshall Lane VIPs”.
-
Never park along the fence in the lower lot that is marked “Do not park here” or in the driveway that leads to the cafeteria.
Working together, we can help to keep all of our students safe. A big thanks to the parents who have volunteered to assist in the parking lot in the mornings. This has been extremely helpful.
If you would like to help in the parking lot from 8:00 to 8:20 in the morning or from 11:30 to 1:00 for lunch duty, please call our office at (408) 364-4259. Thank you!

Chris Reed and Friends have started a band that is open to our 2nd to 5th grade students at Marshall Lane! No experience is needed! Learn to play flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet or percussion! It’s not too late to join!

A big thanks to all of our families who attended Back to School Night for first to fifth grades last week. We had record attendance. It is great to have parents begin to collaborate with teachers so early in the school year.

Do you want to get to know the students at our school and make a real difference at Marshall Lane? One of the best ways is to volunteer or to become a paid noon aide at lunchtime. Both paid and volunteer positions are available immediately. The time frame is 11:30 to 1:00 every day. You can commit to as much or as little time as you choose. Please stop by our office or call (408) 364-4259 for more information. Our students would love to have you join us!

Every month, Principal Priscilla Spencer conducts an informal chat with parents. Usually, these meetings last 30 to 45 minutes. Updates will be given about school events and questions will be answered. Please join us this Friday at 8:30 in the staff lounge for our very first Principal Chat of the 2018-2019 school year. Hope to see you there!

Our annual Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This year, the schedule will be as follows:
