Marshall Lane Elementary School

Standardized Testing

Standardized testing will begin on or around April 24th for all students in third to fifth grades and will continue through May 25th. While students will not work on testing every day, different grade levels will be testing during this time and children will be completing some tests over more than one day or time period.

To ensure that all students will be present during testing, please do not schedule any routine appointments during school hours for this period of time.  Children should arrive at school on time and not be taken out early or on an Independent Study.

It is also important for students to have a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast every day before arriving at school.  Sending a healthy snack will also help students since some tests may require more than one time frame during the day.

The SBAC tests are just one of the many ways that we can gauge the success of our programs and curriculum as well as the achievement of individual children and groups of students.  It provides very important information that helps us with continuous improvement.

If you have questions or concerns about the testing that you would like to discuss, please call our office at (408) 364-4259.
